Discussion at ‘The Green Chain’ Opening Weekend
Vancouver, Canada (March 7, 2009) — Big Room Co-founder Jacob Malthouse joined a panel discussion following a showing of Canadian film ‘The Green Chain‘ by Mark Leiren-Young.
In addition to the film’s Director, Greenpeace Co-founder Rex Weyler, Green Party Candidate Vanessa Violini, and the Sierra Club of Canada participated. The panel covered a wide ranging discussion with the audience on the challenge of over-consumption and ways of fostering sustainable forestry and livelihoods.
“Growing up next to Merv Wilkinson, a long time sustainable forester on Vancouver Island, really opened my eyes to the idea that solutions to environmental and social problems are possible, and are often simpler than we think” said Jacob Malthouse, Co-founder of Big Room. “The film and discussion re-enforced this for me. Mark has done a wonderful job exploring the differing views of people who love trees.”
